  2. upgrade v4.2b     4/11/94
  3.  1) A reported GPF error when moving menu items out of sequence
  4. was  fixed.

  7.  1) Fix a reported minor problem when changing ICONs to a
  8.  the menu item.  
  9.  2) Checks user's effective rights to the dir

  37.  1) The CacheALL= command was added. See [Options] in admin.hlp

  41.  1) The routine that checks the user's registration number 
  42.  was fixed. 
  43.  2) WINMNEWS.EXE was enhanced to allow users expanding and 
  44.  shrinking the windows. It also now remembers the last screen
  45.  settings.

  48.  1) Winmenu now engages in DDE communication with new DOS window
  49.  sessions to pass the user selected ICON and description.
  50.  2) Winmenu consumes 20k less o RAM memory due to recompilation
  51.  using the medium memory model vs large model of previous versions.
  52.  Some functions are a little bit faster too.

  55.  1) Winmenu now executes the programs in the "startup" group of
  56.  Program Manager when running as the Windows' shell. 
  57.  2) You may optionally setup Winmenu to ask for confirmation when
  58.  exiting. See online help under The [Options] section.

  61.  1) Winmenu now uses a file format similar to the Program Manager
  62.  to store the menu definitions. The file has extension of .GRP
  63.  and allow much faster loads and consume less memory. The utility
  64.  WCONVERT.EXE now is included to allow users of previous versions
  65.  to convert the INI file to .GRP files. The INI files are still 
  66.  used only to store user switches and other configuration data. 
  67.  2) Drag-and-drop may be used to move menu items positions across
  68.  pages in a menu section. 
  69.  3) Users may now drag-and-drop menu items into a TRASH can to 
  70.  delete them.
  71.  4) The Menu Maintenance dialog allow administrators to enter
  72.  a file server, volume and path to use when executing an appli-
  73.  cation. This is used to optionally attach and detach to another
  74.  file server for executing the application. Great for users of 
  75.  CDROM file servers where the login access may be limited.
  76.  5) The Menu Maintenance dialog also allow administrators to
  77.  set a maximum count of users that may be allowed to use any
  78.  given application concurrently.  Great to meet software license
  79.  agreements and control the use of resources.
  80.  6) Users may now rename the pages in each menu section to further
  81.  organize the applications. 
  82.  7) The online help modules have been revisited to account for 
  83.  enhancements and changes.

  86. 1) GPF errors with some screen savers is fixed.
  87. 2) Access rights to files and directories are now working properly.
  88. 3) GPF error when executing some applications is also corrected
  89. 4) Online help information updated

  92. 1) The MAP= field can now be used to map a data drive.
  93.    Previous version used this field exclusively to execute a program.
  94.    v5.0J can now map a data drive and execute the program from one of the
  95.    current available drives.  If a drive letter is specified in the
  96.    Command Line and WorkDir fields, Winmenu will not use the drive
  97.    mapped in the MAP= to execute the program.  The mapped drive can
  98.    then be used by the executing program for data access.

  100.    Note: Drives mapped by the MAP= field are "unmapped" when the 
  101.    executing program terminates.  Unless another executing program is 
  102.    using the same drive.

  105. 1) Routine that checks the network was enhanced to properly detect
  106. the network under Windows NT 3.5 .  Winmenu now works under WFWG, NT
  107. and Windows 3.1 and above.  SHOuld work for WIndows 95 (a.k.a Chicago).

  110. 1) Some functions were moved to a DLL (wmenu.dll) to eliminate 
  111. some memory problems caused in certain systems. 
  112. 2) The AutoArrange= functions was revisited.

  119. fixed the error.

  123. 2) Accessory programs (Blue ribbon) can have a work directory.
  124. 3) NWCALLS.DLL is now used instead of NWNETAPI.DLL to conform to
  125.    Novell wishes.
