- 1) Winmenu now executes the programs in the "startup" group of
- Program Manager when running as the Windows' shell.
- 2) You may optionally setup Winmenu to ask for confirmation when
- exiting. See online help under The [Options] section.

- upgrade v5.0 11/10/94
- 1) Winmenu now uses a file format similar to the Program Manager
- to store the menu definitions. The file has extension of .GRP
- and allow much faster loads and consume less memory. The utility
- WCONVERT.EXE now is included to allow users of previous versions
- to convert the INI file to .GRP files. The INI files are still
- used only to store user switches and other configuration data.
- 2) Drag-and-drop may be used to move menu items positions across
- pages in a menu section.
- 3) Users may now drag-and-drop menu items into a TRASH can to
- delete them.
- 4) The Menu Maintenance dialog allow administrators to enter
- a file server, volume and path to use when executing an appli-
- cation. This is used to optionally attach and detach to another
- file server for executing the application. Great for users of
- CDROM file servers where the login access may be limited.
- 5) The Menu Maintenance dialog also allow administrators to
- set a maximum count of users that may be allowed to use any
- given application concurrently. Great to meet software license
- agreements and control the use of resources.
- 6) Users may now rename the pages in each menu section to further
- organize the applications.
- 7) The online help modules have been revisited to account for
- enhancements and changes.

- 1) The MAP= field can now be used to map a data drive.
- Previous version used this field exclusively to execute a program.
- v5.0J can now map a data drive and execute the program from one of the
- current available drives. If a drive letter is specified in the
- Command Line and WorkDir fields, Winmenu will not use the drive
- mapped in the MAP= to execute the program. The mapped drive can
- then be used by the executing program for data access.

- Note: Drives mapped by the MAP= field are "unmapped" when the
- executing program terminates. Unless another executing program is
- using the same drive.

- the network under Windows NT 3.5 . Winmenu now works under WFWG, NT
- and Windows 3.1 and above. SHOuld work for WIndows 95 (a.k.a Chicago).
